C.D. FUNDS CONT'D aurhorize the City to request $60,000 of C.D. money for continuation on the Storm Sewer project which was the capital improvement programs highest priority. Councilman McDonald moved that the City staff be authorized to prepare a re- commendation for the LURA public hearing in the amount of $60,000 to be used for pipe and street storm sewers. Seconded by Councilman DelPizzo. Motion carried. It was noted that if this is received it would help complete the Pine Street project and that there was still a sub- stantial amount of work to complete the entire project. FIRE DISTRICT Mr. Wurl stated that there was not much new to report and that he was to attend the firemen meeting on January 11. E.D.A. LETTERS Mr. Wurl reviewed correspondence. He stated that the City was turned down on their grant requests with E.D.A. and thought that everyone in Boulder County was turned down since that unemployment figure dropped below the minimum. FIRE TRUCK ENGINE Mr. Wurl reqported to Council his under- standing as to the damaged Mac engine. He stated that the cost for the new engine is about $6,500. Councilman DelPizzo stated that the per- son who does the work should have some type of insurance to cover a situation like this. Councilman DiLorenzo stated that she thought a law was in effect stating that mechanics must hold a state license. She requested that Attorney Joss check into it. Mayor Pro-tern requested that Mr. Wurl report back to Council at the next meeting as to where the funds will come from to repair the engine. REORGANIZATION LURA Mr. Wurl stated that the last official action that was taken by the City was the Mayor signing the letter which stated that Council was over riding the action that the LURA Board had taken and hoped that matters would be resolved and a new mand would be in by January 10, 1977. -4-
