COLO. TECH. CENTER
CONT'D
PAT ROGERS

If I get this entire study, documentation and
all with a bow-tie within 2 weeks, which is
shorter than our usual turn-out time, the
State requires some things that we have to
do within 24 days, there will be a reply.
If you can ask me point by point questions
you will get a reply.

JIM KIRKS PHALEN

I would like a question answered.
Maybe somebody from the LUC can answer if for
me. I have listened to this presentation,
and I feel satisfied with it. Could someone
from the LUC please tell me what they want?

Maybe I should try to clarify what happened
at this point. If you were to go ahead on
the basis of this information designate
those in areas that Dr. Robinson has indi-
cated are subject to 1% or greater chance of
subsidence as a geologic hazard area, the map
and all the supporting documentation would
go to the LUC for review. They would schedule
it for a public hearing, end of June or July,
whenever the information came in. The LUC
at that time would want to hear from Dr.
Robinson and from the CGS; and to get the
geological's survey recommendation and opinion
on this study and whether it satifies in the
the survey's mind what should be designated
as a geologic hazard area. So, the tech-
nical determination, as far as the Commission
is concerned, would first come from the
geologic survey. It may be that you will want
to go ahead tonight and designate on this
basis and take a chance with the geologic
survey coming up with a different opinion be-
fore the LUC and the LUC weighing what Dr.
Robinson says what you have done and what the
geologic survey does. Beyond that I really
can't be more specific because I'm not a geo-
logist and I can't indicate what the potential
questions are concerns might be concerning
this study and this map.

COUNCILMAN MC DONALD

COUNCILMAN MC DONALD

In other words there is really no guarantee
that this will stop even in July or August.
Is this right?

If at the end of this hearing tonight you
decide to go ahead and designate or not to
designate on the basis of this information
without first hearing the CGS opinions on it;
if you choose to go that way, then the LUC
as I say will hear from both sides and make

JIM KIRKSPHALEN

-17-
