ORDINANCE #491 CONT'D administrative branch of the City Coun- cil and City Administrator. Mr. Wurl stated that Ordinance #491 puts the police department in the same procedures of other city employees. Mr. Wurl stated that in the past it has been passed by Council to put the police department under the City Administrators jurisdiction, but it could not be done unless modified as in Ordinance #491. After discussion roll call was taken for the publication of Ordinance #491. Domenico no, DelPizzo no, Berry yes, Caranci yes, DiCarlo yes, Dhieus yes. Motion carried. ORDINANCE #492 AMENDMENT OF #479 SALES TAX Councilman Domenico and Councilman DelPizzo stated that they were opposed to having articles placed at there seat before the meeting, and then have to take action on them the same night. Councilman Domenico stated that he would not vote on any material that he had received that same night. Attorney Morris stated that this ordinance fully implements the Sales Tax ordinance and basically provides for a license fee of $3.00. It also provides for a schedule as to how the tax is collected. Attorney Morris read Ordinance #492 by title only, as distributed to all Council members. Councilman Caranci moved that Ordinance #492 be ordered published. Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Mr. Conarroe stated that he was opposed to the license fee as it is another added tax to independent businesses. He also stated that the fee was more then the state requires. It was reported that the Gross Receipt license does not have a fee at present. After discussion roll call was taken for publication of Ordinance #492. Domenico no, Berry yes, Dhieux yes, DelPizzo no, Caranci yes, DiCarlo yes. Motion carried. With no more reports Councilman DiCarlo moved that the City Attorney report by accepted. Seconded by Councilman Berry. Motion carried. -6-
