LCityof <br />Louisville <br />City Manager's Office <br />Memorandum <br />To: Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board <br />From: Kayla Betzold, Sustainability Manager <br />Date: June 21, 2023 <br />Re: Staff Updates <br />Resource Central Programs <br />• Free, online Waterwise Yard Seminars will be hosted by Resource Central and partner <br />organizations throughout 2023 to educate residents about low-water landscaping. Find <br />out more at https://resourcecentral.org/seminars/. The City of Louisville seminar will <br />be held on Monday, July 10 from 6:00 — 8:00 p.m. and will be titled Firewise <br />Landscaping: Methods and Design <br />• Slow the Flow sprinkler assessments and Rachio smart controller installations will start <br />to be advertised in late May/early June. New this year, Louisville businesses can <br />participate in the Slow the Flow program. <br />Events <br />• The Electrify Your Ride event will be hosted by the City of Louisville Sustainability <br />division on Tuesday, June 27 from 5-7p at Steinbaugh Pavilion. <br />o It will feature an EV ride and drive with an EV 6, Subaru Solterra, Mini Cooper, <br />and a BMW model. There will also be an EV showcase with a Mustang, Rivian, <br />Tesla 3 and VW IDA <br />o The event will also feature e-bike ride and drives with bikes from E-bike of <br />Colorado and Louisville Cyclery. <br />• The City will host a Bike to Work Day station on Wednesday, June 28 from 7-9a at City <br />Hall. Bikers will receive free breakfast and bicycle -related giveaways. <br />• The final film in the Sustainability Film Series will be hosted by Superior on July 20 and <br />will highlight the topic of a circular economy. <br />Projects and Programs <br />• The Green Business Program is now open to new businesses and re -certification for <br />existing businesses.
