Arbor Day <br />• Participated in Arbor Day planting in Arboretum <br />Sustainability <br />• To add to the June meeting: 15-20 meeting minutes to city's decarbonization plan to <br />get public feedback <br />• May have some public participation <br />Grant for new equipment <br />• Matching grant from regional air quality group to replace gas equipment with <br />battery -operated tools <br />• Will place order by June <br />VIII. Board Updates <br />Bee City Subcommittee Meeting <br />• Talked through work plan items: <br />o Replanting Home Landscapes after the Marshall Fire <br />o Louisville Farmers Market booth <br />o Bee and Pollinator-themed Art Contest for Louisville Elementary School <br />o Encourage Pollinator Education at Local Schools <br />o Louisville Community Garden outreach <br />o Pollinator Houses and Native Plant Seed Strips <br />o Policy Initiatives to Consider/Support <br />• Subcommittee meeting minutes appended below <br />• Patricia created art contest in 2 elementary schools <br />• Amy from Butterfly Pavilion has offered a lot of resources for re -landscaping and <br />what could be pulled together for a booth at farmer's market <br />o Topics: How do we handle pests, How do we invite more pollinators <br />No RAB-PPLAB meeting <br />Open Government training - next Monday (May 8) evening (required every 2 years) <br />Tax task force meetings <br />• Additional Sales Tax is a very large portion of funding for parks and open space <br />• Some on the task force want a higher tax rate and/or to ask for longer time period <br />• Mayor Maloney chairing and City Manager Durbin in attendance as well <br />• Company hired to poll the public - closes May 4th <br />• Next task force on May 15th to discuss <br />• Will come up with wording based off of poll, City Council needs to approve by end of <br />June <br />• Sales tax - question from people as to how is revenue working these days with loss <br />
