City Council Feedback • Will bring this to City Council in June • What do you consider to be the purpose and role of your body? o Advisory role to Park division, provide community feedback o In the event of a homeowner dispute about tree removal, we have final vote for appeals o Resolution No. 65 Series 2015 when HFAB changed to PPLAB in 2015: Section 2 outlines our role: ■ "The Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to City Council on matters of interest related to parks and public landscaping within the City of Louisville. The board shall have such other advisory responsibilities ... [as noted A-1]." ■ Bylaws also states duties as well • Do you have any suggestions on changing the role in the future? o More collaboration across boards and by staff as well so we have a solidified goal and plan to prepare for items to present to City Council o Staff to help relay concerns between the boards • What have been your greatest successes? o Playground improvements o Bee City o Arboretum o Parks rating project as input into which parks need attention o Input on park signage replacement o Input on medians o Inputs on priorities o Sustainability throughout the parks ■ Reduction in pesticides o Mission around education and outreach ■ Bee City is doing that in real-time o Continue to provide community outreach • What about your greatest failures? o Delay in the median project o Difficult to say in the past few years if items not addressed were caused by budget, pandemic, etc. • What is your process to develop your annual work plan? How does it align with Council's work plan? o PPLAB develops priorities for year by ranking ideas and taking the top forward o Would like more clarity about the City Council work plan ■ Used to have City Council liaison but no longer do and this causes a some disconnect o Timing could align a bit better
