The shaded boxes represent the highest mean scores. It should be noted that not only did the
long-time residents consistently rate question items lower than the other two residence
categories, but these ratings were consistently lower than the overall pooled mean score. Four
of these were significant at the .00 level for the means test. Significant findings of .00 will be
bolded in all tables.
LOUISVILLE PUBLIC SAFETY
Part 2 (page 55) covered general performance in law enforcement. Those items receiving
relatively high pooled mean scores included general safety of the neighborhood (7.3), and police
response (7.1). Animal control enforcement (5.6) and enforcement of weed and trash ordinances
(5.1) had the lowest pooled values.
Residents living in Louisville ten years or more, and residents in the income range of 0-$40,000
consistently rated the City lower on most items in Part 2. Single -person households gave a
somewhat lower rating to the D.A.R.E. and Neighborhood Watch programs.
Table 8
LOUISVILLE PUBLIC SAFETY
Response by Years of Residence in Louisville
YOUR PERCEPTION OF CITY OF LOUISVILLE PUBLIC SAFETY PERFORMANCE IN THE FOLLOWING
AREAS:
MEANS TEST ON CATEGORIES: INCOME
Pooled 0 - $41,000
Mean $40,000 to
Score $74,000
1.
