We appreciate your efforts in advocating for and supporting <br />greater diversity of the artistic experiences within the Louisville community. Within 60 days of the completion of <br />your event, please provide written answers to the following questions. We appreciate a candid assessment of your <br />event, the impact upon the Louisville community, and how you assess your overall community reach. <br />Name of Organization or Artist: Grace Gee Enterprises <br />Collaborative Partners (if applicable): none <br />Title of Event/Program: Bubbling Up <br />Amount of Art Grant Award: $1500 <br />Program Goal(s): <br />1. Fostering Empowering Narratives: create a nurturing environment for individuals of color to <br />share their stories of racial injustice, empowering them to reclaim their voices and <br />experiences. <br />2. Promote Cultural Understanding: cultivate awareness and empathy within the white <br />community by shedding light on the lived experiences of people of color in North America, <br />foster a more compassionate and inclusive society. <br />3. Sparking Meaningful Dialogue: facilitate constructive conversations about race that transcend <br />boundaries, encouraging open exchanges among all people in the community. <br />Please describe the impact your event had on the community: <br />Numbers of individuals reached: 45,430 <br />How did you attract your target audience? <br />The target audience was successfully reached through a comprehensive outreach strategy, including leveraging <br />the power of social media, magazine feature stories, city website and communications, tapping into personal <br />networks, collaborating with EDI-focused community groups, spreading through positive word of mouth and <br />engaging with the diverse library patronage. <br />Did the activity generate any unexpected outcomes or impacts? <br />The revelation that individuals initially believed they lacked personal stories or experiences of discrimination, <br />only to discover them showcased on the wall, was truly unexpected. Remarkably, many teenagers were <br />unaware that what they perceived as uncomfortable comments are microaggressions and are in fact, part of the <br />broader spectrum of racial injustice. This highlights the importance of fostering greater awareness and <br />education to help people recognize and address issues of racial discrimination more effectively. <br />Was your organization able to achieve your program goals? <br />If yes, how? If not, what improvements can be made for future programs/events? <br />• Yes, by running events in spaces that people are already engaging in a conversation about <br />race, healing and healthy.
