<br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />ACKNOWLEDGEMENT <br /> <br />Councilman DelPizzo stated that the <br />City should do something to re- <br />cognize the people who were involved <br />in the life saving of the Marshall boy <br />during the accident at Harney's Pond. <br />Mr. Wurl stated that the City was planning <br />on presenting the people who were in- <br />volved with a citation for their services. <br /> <br />HARNEY'S POND <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl ~tated that the staff has been <br />discussing different possiblities to <br />reengineer the lake to possibly make it <br />larger and more shallow. The parks de- <br />partment held a meeting and with corres- <br />pondence from other cities it was de- <br />cided that there would not be a fence <br />placed around the pond as if a child did <br />climb the fence it may result in delayed <br />rescuing services. <br />Mr. Helart stated that the big discussion <br />in regards to the water at the pond was <br />it is infested with mosquitoes and the <br />citizens of the city would like more flow <br />through the pond instead of stagnate water. <br />Mr. Helart stated that signs will be <br />posted stating the area is not patroled. <br /> <br />COAL CREEK PROJECT <br /> <br />Councilman Berry stated that a meeting <br />was held and the committee hopes to pro- <br />gress through 1976. Also they have re- <br />ceived no word from Erie in regards to <br />their involvement. <br /> <br />With no other reports Councilman DiCarlo <br />moved that the reports be accepted. Se- <br />conded by Councilwoman Dhieux. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />AUDIENCE COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Helart stated that Parks held a meeting <br />in regards to Parkwood Park. He stated <br />that residents of Parkwood reque~ted that <br />something be done with the water at Har- <br />ney's Pond for the stagnation and also <br />that the pond might be stocked for fishing. <br />He stated that the residents also had <br />written a letter to Wood Brothers in re- <br />gards to seepage of water from the ditch. <br />It was stated that if the depth of the <br />pond is brought down then during winter <br />the stock would be killed off. <br />Mr. Helart stated that CSU dept. of Agri- <br />culture was contacted in regards to what <br />type of foliage could be placed in the <br />open space area which would not be re- <br />quired regular watering. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
