<br />PARK & REC cont'd <br /> <br />Councilman DiCarlo asked that something <br />be done about the safety of the construc- <br />tion at the pool as children have already <br />been hurt. Councilman DelPizzo also stated <br />that there has been vandalism at the pool. <br />It was suggested that barricades be put up. <br /> <br />Dr. Taylor requested that it be brought <br />before Council that he would like to <br />purchase the land east of Louisville, <br />142 acres owned by the City. His purpose <br />would be to develop a park area and a <br />bird and small wild life refuge. After <br />discussion Councilman DelPizzo moved <br />that the land not be sold. Seconded by <br />Councilman Domenico. Councilwoman <br />Dhieux asked that an amendment be added <br />that Council have the City Administrator <br />look into the feasibility of a lease <br />agreement. The amendment was not seconded <br />and died. Roll call vote on original <br />motion. Domenico yes, Berry no, Scholl <br />yes, Dhieux yes, DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo <br />yes. Motion carried. <br />Councilwoman Scholl than moved that Mr. <br />Wurl contact Mr. Taylor and get more <br />information on his request and also <br />the possibility of a lease agreement. <br />Seconded by Councilman Berry. Roll call. <br />Domenico no, Berry yes, Scholl yes, <br />Dhieux yes, DelPizzo no, DiCarlo no. Tie <br />vote. Mayor Waschak voted no to defeat <br />the motion 4-3. <br /> <br />TAYLOR REQUEST <br /> <br />FIREMENS REQUEST <br /> <br />Councilman Berry moved that Council <br />accept the Firemens request that they be <br />allowed to spend the $1,880.00 surplus <br />on improvements to the new fire hall. <br />Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Roll call. <br />Domenico yes, Berry yes, Scholl yes, <br />Dhieux yes, DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo yes. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />LURA APPOINTMENT <br /> <br />Councilwoman Scholl moved that Mr. Richard <br />Hershey be appointed to the LURA Board <br />replacing Mrs. Shirley Rupp. There was <br />no second to the motion. After discussion <br />Councilwoman Scholl again moved that Mr. <br />Hershey be appointed. Seconded by <br />Councilman DiCarlo. Roll call. Domenico <br />no, Berry no, Scholl yes, Dhieux no, <br />DelPizzo no, DiCarlo no. Motion defeated. <br />Councilman DiCarlo recommended that Mrs. <br />Meredith Madonna be appointed to the <br />Board. Mrs. l1adonna stated that she would <br />not be able to accept the appointment. <br />
