<br />'~DINANCE 4/=418 <br />...GARETTE TAX <br /> <br />MUNICIPAL COURT <br />REPORT <br /> <br />LURA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 4/=15 <br />SERIES 1973 <br />LURA 2nd YEAR <br />ACTION PROGRAM <br /> <br />CML CONVEN- <br />TION <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Repealing Ordinance No. 388 which provided for the Levying <br />of Cigarette Tax. Attorney Morris explained to Council <br />House Bill No. 1492 had recently been enacted to provide <br />for the collection of cigarette tax in the amount of 4.6C <br />per pack for the City instead of the 2C now being collected, <br />and it would also eliminate the purchasing of cigarette <br />stamps and collecting funds for same. All this will be <br />done by the State and it is definitely to our advantage <br />to repeal our ordinance before July 1, 1973. <br />The only disadvantage is that there will be no payment <br />received from the State until October 1, 1973. <br />Councilman King moved that Ordinance =1/=418 be published. <br />Seconded by Councilman Deborski. Roll call vote - Deborski <br />yes, King yes, Jensen yes, Donovan yes, Scholl yes, Dom- <br />enico yes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman King expressed a concern about the amount of <br />money derived from the Court. <br />Councilman Jensen moved to accept the Municipal Court <br />report. Seconded by Councilman Donovan. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Chairman Dennis Lundberg advised Council that Louis Pol's <br />term on the Board had expired and they would advise Council <br />on whom they would recommend to fill the vacancy. Also, <br />Councilman Domenico was unable to attend the meetings <br />as Council rE~presentative. Councilman Jens"en vDlunteered to <br />fill the vacancy created by Domenico. <br /> <br />Resolution 15, Series 1973 - LURA 2nd Action Year was dis- <br />cussed. Councilman King moved that Resolution 15, Series <br />1973 be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Jensen. Roll call <br />vote - Deborski yes, King yes, Jensen yes, Donovan yes, <br />Scholl yes, Domenico yes.
