CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />27 <br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 1, 2009 <br />Page 3 of 11 <br />discussion on September 1 was the east line to DIA; the gold line and part of the <br />Northwest Parkway. He stressed it is a common commitment of rail and rapid <br />transit. He thanked Deputy City Manager Balser for her work on the project. <br />City Manager Fleming updated Council on the following items: <br />A successful week of maintenance at the Recreation Center. The Center <br />is now open, but a new roof and HVAC system will be installed soon. <br />Staff met with the County Commissioners at the Sports Complex, on <br />usage of the parking lot. The County Commissioners considered the <br />proposal. <br />Mayor Sisk asked when the HVAC installation at the Recreation Center will be <br />completed. Parks and Recreation Director Stevens explained the HVAC and roof <br />will be complete by mid October. Mayor Sisk asked if all the maintenance work <br />at the Recreation Center was completed. Parks and Recreation Director Stevens <br />stated 90% of the work was completed. <br />RECOGNITION AND PRESENTATION OF GIFT TO MAYOR CHUCK SISK <br />AND THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE FROM MAYOR JUNJI MAEHATA OF ARAO, <br />KUMAMOTO, JAPAN <br />Joe Alper, 741 Wildwood Way, Louisville, CO explained the Trebol Girls Soccer <br />Club participated in an International Soccer Exchange with the Sanvino Soccer <br />Team of Arao, Kumanoto, Japan. Last spring the Sanvino Soccer Team visited <br />the cities of Louisville and Lafayette. In a cultural exchange, the members of the <br />youth Trebol Soccer Club visited Japan in July. Members of the teams stayed <br />with local families during their visits. Mr. Alper described the Trebol Soccer Club <br />team members' experience and impressions of Japan. Mayor Junji Maehata <br />was so pleased at the reception the Sanvino Soccer Team received when visiting <br />Louisville, he asked the Trebol Soccer Club to deliver a gift to Mayor Sisk and the <br />City of Louisville. Mr. Alper presented Mayor Maehata's gift to Mayor Sisk, which <br />was a beautiful pottery piece from.the Arao region. Mayor Sisk read Mayor <br />Maehata's letter to the City Council and expressed his gratitude for the kind gift. <br />BI- MONTHLY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br />Economic Development Director Star updated City Council on the economic <br />development in Louisville. Her report contained the following items: <br />
