Historic Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes June 15, 2009 Page 4 of 8 Koertje stated his interest in Senor T's. He requested that each request be placed on the next agenda. Tofte stated that 4 weeks is a long time to wait for an answer. Lewis stated that just because a structure is on the market doesn't mean it is in peril. Stewart asked how much of the fund balance is avaialble for acquisition. Koertje stated the fund has not been broken down into individual elements. Stewart stated he would recommend the grain elevator as the first acquisition. He stated it is not being used nor is it on the market. Tofte asked if the Commission could move forward on acquiring something that isn't currently on the market. Stewart asked why not. Tofet asked how should the Commission allocate funds. Koertje stated the Commission will create a budget at the beginning of each year. Koertje closed by asking Staff to bring back the grant application at the next meeting for Commission review. Update/Discussion/Action - Downtown Design Guidelines and Old Town Overlay Regulations Koertje stated Whiteman and Kortje had asked City Council to appoint a body to review what elements of the downtown design standards should be reviewed. Koertje stated that Council recommended that the HPC and Planning Commission chose two representatives from each Commission to go through the guidelines to determine what elements need to be addressed, primarily how to address the preservation of character. McCartney then polled the Commission to ask who would be interested in participating. Stewart and Williams volunteered to be on the review committee. Tofte stated the Committee could contact Greg McMenemen to inquire about the establishment of an architectural review board.
