(all from WRAC). Guests from the
Louisville Resource Conservation Advisory Board (LRCAB): Beth Armbruster,
Annie Hughes, Mark Persichetti and Richard Smith.

Minutes

Jeff moved and Jake seconded to approve the (WRAC) minutes of March 5th.

Plastic Bag Project

LRCAB and L WRAC met to discuss the plastic bag issue. Shelly discussed how
LWRAC got started on this project to look into different ways to reduce or
eliminate plastic grocery bags through other fees, penalties or banning. Brenda
and Shelly thought it would be good to have a discussion with the LRCAB to see
if both groups could jointly work on this project together. L WRAC will be
discussing this issue with Lafayette City Council in early June and LRCAB will be
doing the same with the Louisville Council in late April. Mark P. from LRCAB
mentioned that he had brought this to Boulder County, as part of their Zero-
Waste program, but the County decided that more analysis was needed before
making recommendations. Mark also feels that a state-wide law on plastic bags
is the best way to go instead of each individual municipality dealing with the
issue. Beth from LRCAB clarified that they were only focusing on grocery plastic

City of Louisville
Public Works Department 749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027
303.335.4608 (phone) 303.335.4550 (fax) www.cUouisville.co.us
