Resource Conservation Advisory Board
Agenda
DATE

C. The table will be set up with canvas bag samples.
D. The suggestion was made, but not really agreed upon, to provide
an interactive display consisting of bricks that residents could put
inside plastic bags and canvas bags to demonstrate how much
stronger canvas bags are.
E. The suggestion was made and agreed upon to set up a board or
easel where residents could write their suggestions for
remembering to bring their canvas bags to the grocery store.

VI1.1 Confirmation of members' shifts to staff our table that weekend

A. The following shifts were identified:
a. Saturday 10-1 (Beth tentatively agreed to this shift)
b. Saturday 12-4
c. Sunday 10-1
d. Sunday 12-4
e. Monday 10-1 (optional)
f. Monday 12-4
B. Mark will email all members to sign-up for shifts.
C. Mark will arrive at the beginning and end of each day to set up and
dismantle the computer, projector and screen.

VI1.2 Preparation of a Power-Point presentation with helpful hints for
reducing plastic bag usage. Members will bring suggestions-photo
samples-links to the meeting so we can put together this presentation

A. Mark shared two options for the PowerPoint presentation; the first
was essentially the option he received from Annie. The second was
his altered version. The board agreed to use his altered version.

VI1.3 Power-Point presentation on the effects of plastic bags in the
environment, via

A. Action items for Mark: slow down the slide transitions, explore
increasing the type size. The future plan is to make the slide show
available on the city TV station, along with narration for each slide
provided by board members. Annie volunteered the use of her
home-based recording studio for the voice-overs.

VIII. Member Reports - Contacts, Meetings, Interest Items, etc.

A. Beth saw an article in the Daily Camera regarding Lafayette's
proposal to ban plastic bags within their city limits.
