Goals

While the City ntinues to pursue additional water supplies to meet f-
uture needs, the goal of the Louisville water conservation plan is to
focus on increasi erall water use efficiency system wide. By increasing
efficiency for any gi n water use, water conservation is the direct effect. With
conserva . comes additional supplies that can be put to other uses, as may be
needed future growth or drought protection, or reduce the need to acquire
additional supplies. The objectives of this Plan, through the continued utilization of
current measures and implementation of future measures, is to maintain current
water savings, reduce the impacts of future development, keep citywide gpcd and
individual customer type usage consistent with neighboring entities, and compile
data for determining the effectiveness of Plan measures. It is believed that through
the continued implementation of current conservation measures as well as
implementation of future measures a total savings of 5.0 percent over the coming
years is significant, yet realistic.
