Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />February 18, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />the Postal Service has just informed the Museum that starting in July, <br />barcodes will be required on mailing labels for bulk mailings. It was decided <br />that the Commission will seek bid information from two printing companies for <br />not only printing the Louisville Historian, but also for handling the labels with <br />the bar codes and doing the actual mailings. <br />VII. Executive Director's Report <br /> The City of Louisville is applying for a grant from <br />the State Historical Fund to help fund the historical building survey that will be <br />performed in fulfillment of the goals of the Historic Preservation Fund. The <br />Commission will provide a letter of support. <br />Museum Coordinator's Report <br />VIII. <br />A. Deeds of Gifts <br />1. Jean Morgan: old City of Louisville street signs (disposed of by the City) <br />and key chain from Pasquale's Pizza, a Main Street business <br />2. Don and Barbara McKee: Photo of the Moffitt house and shop on South <br />Main Street <br />3. Pat Seader: Butter mold handmade by her grandfather <br />4. Darlene Rohr: Scanned photos from the Wilson family showing family <br />members and their home on La Farge Avenue <br />5. Darlene DelPizzo: Historic photos and other items from the estate of Viola <br />Owens <br />B. Correspondence and News Coverage <br />1. Colorado Heritage Magazine <br />2. Boulder's Sesquicentennial information, including information on an <br />upcoming lecture series on mining and farming <br />3. Peter Stewart, Louisville architect and member of the Historic <br />Preservation Commission, was noted in Denver Post for award winning <br />preservation and restoration efforts <br />C. Visitor's Report and Tours - January: 107 visitors <br />D. Activity Report <br />1. An orientation for the new Commission members, Dan Sagrillo and Brian <br />Chamberlin, took place at the Historical Museum <br />2. The Colorado History Museum’s project on Italians in Colorado (which <br />included the exhibit on Italy in Colorado and the accompanying book) has <br />been nominated for a national award. Bridget Bacon was asked by the <br />curator to write a critical review letter for the nomination. The letter was <br />submitted last week. <br />3. Bob Enrietto is continuing to contribute to community education and will <br />give a talk on Louisville history for the YMCA in March. <br />4. Bridget Bacon is planning for the next front window display in the <br />Museum to focus on the former Post Office site. <br />5. Louisville recently hosted the Boulder County Preservation Forum. <br />Heather Lewis of the Historic Preservation Commission gave her <br />presentation on mail order homes in Louisville, which originated with her <br />volunteer research for the Museum. <br />6. Heather Lewis and Bridget Bacon are planning to collaborate on a future <br />issue of the Louisville Historian about relocated buildings in Louisville. <br />E. Sales Tax Update: No update at this time. <br /> <br />
