Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 20, 2009 <br />Page 9 of 9 <br /> <br />Whiteman asked if the Legion could do fundraising. <br />Lewis asked if the Historic Preservation Fund could be used for an historic <br />structure assessment for the Casino. <br />McCartney stated he would check whether or not the fund could be used for the <br />technical assistance. <br />Update on Demolition Requests – 908 Parkview <br />McCartney informed the Commission of a potential demo review for 908 <br />Parkview. McCartney stated he had spoken with the contractor of the property <br />who stated he might be applying for a demo permit. <br />Discussion/Comments on Planning Department Referrals - none <br />Updates - none <br />Items from Staffnone <br /> - <br />Items from Commission Members <br />Williams asked if the HPC and PC joint meeting could include discussion of <br />residential guidelines for historic structures. McCartney affirmed that residential <br />guidelines could be a topic of discussion at the joint meeting. <br />Williams asked staff if there has been anymore discussion of a dedicated HPC <br />employee. McCartney stated he believes the dedicated HPC employee is <br />himself (McCartney). <br />Williams then asked staff if they have ever tried to get an intern to help out. <br />McCartney responded staff has in the past but have not been unsuccessful. <br />Whiteman addressed the Commission by stating the August 17, 2009 meeting <br />will be his last meeting. Whiteman then reminded the Commission there will <br />need to be a replacement for his spot on the Commission, and recommended to <br />the Commission to get word out for someone to apply. <br />Discussion Items for Next Meeting <br />Koertje asked if there could be discussion on the State Historical Fund Grant at <br />the next meeting. Whiteman answered in the affirmative. <br />Adjourn <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:48 PM. <br />
