One alternative is to move the corridor to the North:, No
decisions have been made and discussions will continue. Simmons stated that they are
proposing a meeting between the Northwest Parkway Authority and City Council at a
work session. Simmons noted that funds have been appropriated to be divided between
Broomfield and Louisville for acquisition of open space.

Davidson stated that there are funds available, however, it is a matter of priorities. He
also stated that prior to work session with the Northwest Parkway Authority, he walked
through the land in question and there is a lower level of wetlands.

Simmons stated that the meeting held last week on the Highway 42 Plan from Pine Street
to South Boulder Road was very well attended. This property consists of a 35 acres parcel located east of Empire Road, and
east of the Louisville Cemetery. This is a joint open space purchase with the City of
Louisville and the City of Lafayette.

Simmons stated that the Futures Conference has been tentatively scheduled for May 20,
2000. If that date works for the Council, staff will moved forward on the project.

COUNCIL COM:MENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS

Brown commended Council and Staff on the Bowes open space acquisition and on the
Town Hall meeting on the Highway 42 Corridor.
