Working with a' <br />facilitator helped identify the need to build trust between the Parish and neighbors and improve <br />community relations with both the neighbors and the City. In addition, members of the Parish staff <br />met with City staff and the school staff to discuss resolutions to parking, traffic and trash. Members <br />of the Parish and the neighborhood decided to prepare a joint document to present to the Planning <br />Commission at the October 13, 1998, meeting. Communications broke down and they were not able <br />to complete the document as a group. The Parish committee completed the document. She asked to <br />recap what they are proposing for some of the issues. <br /> <br />Trash <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The recycling program will be re-evaluated by Eco-Cycle. More recycling <br />pickup/containers will be added as Eco-Cycle recommends. Eco-Cycle will also be <br />asked to re-educate the parish/school staff and students on the recycling program. <br />Cardboard will not be placed in the dumpster but will be collected and taken to the <br />Louisville Recycling Center. <br />Students will continue to collect and dispose of any trash on the Parish property. <br />The Parish will ensun: that dumpster lids are closed. <br />They are evaluating the best location for the trash dumpster. The Parish Committee <br />,md the neighborhood discussed three locations, however, she believes that the Parish <br />Committee and neighbors would agree that there are other potential locations that <br />were not put in writing that were also discussed. <br /> <br />Parking & Car Line <br />When discussing traffic and parking, the issues were divided into two groups: ones that could be <br />aCldressed or enforced by the school/Parish and ones that could be addressed or enforced by the City. <br />The Parish is also looking into the installation of lights in the parking lot to facilitate usage of the <br />lot at night. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />After a meeting with Chief Goodman, a memo from the principal at St. Louis School <br />was sent home to school parents and staff regarding the immediate implementation <br />of Chief Goodman's traffic plan recommendations. <br />Staff members will be stationed outside in the afternoon to ensure compliance with <br />the traffic plan. <br />The Parish/school willl continue to educate individuals and groups using the Parish <br />facilities on parking regulations. <br />A four-way stop at Walnut and Grant Streets and relocation of an obscured stop sign <br />on the northeast side of Walnut and Jefferson are recommended. <br />The Parish/school will encourage staggering of student drop off and pick up times, <br />carpooling, walking and ongoing education of individuals who use Parish facilities. <br /> <br />HVAC Noise <br />The HV AC system currently meets City noise code. The Parish has agreed to install a special-order, <br />quilted noise absorbing material on the ground and roof units as soon as possible to ameliorate the <br />operating sound levels. <br /> <br />5 <br />
