<br />Keany suggested including calculations for expansions that remove existing parking spaces in the' <br />ordinance as he did not see that scenario addressed. <br /> <br />Mayer stated that the impact fee proposal is based upon two parking spaces per thousand feet with <br />the assumption that there will be multiple uses for each spot. He stated that the actual number of <br />spaces per thousand feet necessary to meet peak demand would be two-and-a-half. <br /> <br />Levihn suggested that Council consider sending Ordinance No. 1287, Series 1998 out for publication <br />and continue the discussion at the public hearing. <br /> <br />Keany moved that Council place Ordinance No.1287, Series 1998 - An Ordinance Establishing a <br />Parking Improvement Fee to Assist in Meeting Parking Needs in Downtown Louisville, and <br />Amending Chapter 17.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code and the Louisville Commercial <br />Development Design Standards and Guidelines to Require that all Development within Downtown <br />Louisville Meet Specific Off-Street Parking Requirements or, in Lieu Thereof, Pay a Parking <br />Improvement Fee Out for publication and set a public hearing for Tuesday, Novemberf17, 1998, <br />with the amendment to place a cost in paragraph 'C' of $5,000 per parking space, seconded by <br />Mayer.
