<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 15, 2009 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />BOULDER VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT CITIZEN'S BOND OVERSIGHT <br />COMMITTEE PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Mr. Billy O'Donnell, 444 Owl Drive, Louisville, CO, a member of the Boulder <br />Valley School District's Citize~n's Bond Oversight Committee, updated Council on <br />how the bond projects are progressing and how Louisville schools are specifically <br />being affected. In November of 2006, voters approved a 296.8 million dollar <br />bond program and implemented three phases. <br /> <br />· Phase 1 began February of 2007 and included Louisville Middle School, <br />the Monarch High athletic improvements and the Louisville Elementary <br />playground. <br />· Phase 2 began February of 2007 for the Louisville Elementary School. <br />· Phase 3 is projected to begin in 2011 and will include Monarch K-8, <br />Monarch High, Coal Creek and Fireside Elementary. <br /> <br />There are 16 projects under\ll/ay and 25 have been completed. Through the 4th <br />quarter of 2009, 151.2 million dollars has been spent on school renovation <br />projects. Highlights of the projects include the Louisville Middle School new <br />entryway, atrium, balcony, student gathering area, Library, applied technology <br />lab, and auditorium. Louisville based organizations can use the auditorium free <br />for one year. Monarch High had athletic improvements; Louisville Elementary <br />received new playground equipment; and a wide area of fiber optic network was <br />installed. The Boulder Valley School District web site has an icon, which provides <br />bond program updates. Mr. O'Donnell introduced Susan Cousins, Chair of the <br />Citizen's Oversight Committee and his neighbor Karen Howe. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk expressed the Councils' appreciation to the Boulder Valley School <br />District. He requested Ms. Cousins ask the Boulder County School District to <br />consider using funds to build a stadium at Monarch High School. <br /> <br />Councilor Muckle arrived at ,':20 p.m. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 30, SERIIES 2009 - A RESOLUTION APPROVING A FINAL <br />PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD) AND SPECIAL REVIEW USE (SRU) <br />FOR THE REMODEL AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE EXISTING FIRE <br />STATION AT 1240 MAIN STREET <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br />
