City Council
Meeting Minutes
September 15, 2009

Mayor Sisk introduced Louisville Fire Protection District representatives Chief
Parker, David Yost and Chris Schmidt and thanked them for their service.

Councilor Dalton inquired about the corrugated metal as an accent material and
asked if it is proposed to be trendy. Mr. Callahan explained corrugated metal is a
durable material that will update the building.

Councilor Muckle inquired about the impact to the neighbors to the north and
south. Chief Parker explained the Fire District met with the neighbors to the south
a few years ago to inquire about purchasing their property for off-site parking.
There was not an interest to sell, however they did not object to the fire station
activities. The neighbors to the north would not be impacted by the addition.

Councilor Sackett voiced his appreciation to the fire district for being
conscientious of their neighbors. He asked if the Louisville Revitalization
Commission (LRC) had reviewed the plan. Mayor Sisk stated the proposal was
not presented to the LRC for their review.

Mayor Pro Tem Marsella supported the addition to the building and asked if the
dormitory would accommodate fire fighters and paramedics. Chief Parker stated
most of the fire fighters come from outside Louisville and will use the dormitory
facilities. He noted this year 50 applications were filed for fire fighter positions.

Mayor Sisk voiced his support of the project and the waivers. He felt the project
complements Main Street. Councilor Muck agreed.

Chief Parker thanked the Planning Division; Public Works and the City Manager's
office for their assistance. He explained this project required a quick turnaround
time as it is eligible for federal stimulus funds.

Mayor Sisk closed the public hearing.

MOTION: Councilor Muckle moved to approve Resolution No. 30, Series 2009,
seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Marsella.

City Attorney Light offered a friendly amendment to strike the last four words of
the resolution "subject to the above conditions." Councilor Muckle and Mayor Pro
Tem Marsella accepted the friendly amendment.

VOTE: All in favor.

ORDINANCE No. 1556,. SERIES 2009 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SUBSECTION 0 OF SECTION 3.20.412 OF THE lOUISVlllE MUNICIPAL
CODE CONCERNING SUSPENSION OF THE HOLD HARMLESS PROVISION
