Davidson called for the recommendation of the Finance Committee.
Sisk replied, yes. He explained that he believes the netting is a safety issue and that the
playground would be an enhancement to the Parks Recreation program.
Davidson called for Council comments and questions.
Howard stated that he has had many opportunities to view the activities at the new
ballfields. He reported that the fields are attracting many participants to Little League,
softball, and other programs. The younger siblings of these participants often come to
watch them play. He felt that this provides a wonderful opportunity to provide additional
recreation facilities and commended the Finance Committee for approving the additional
funds.
Sisk moved that Council award the bid to Church Recreation Equipment for a Sports
Complex Playground in the amount of $37,950.59, using a portion of the monies from the
Conservation Trust Funds, seconded by Levihn.
Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a 7 -0 vote.
CENTAURUS LITTLE LEAGUE DONATION FOR LOUISVILLE SPORTS
COMPLEX PLAYGROUND
Davidson called for staff presentation.
Steve Baysinger, Parks Recreation Director, stated that when the Centaurus Little
League learned of the capital project to install a playground, they asked if they could
make a donation toward the installation. He introduced Tom Hesemann, president of the
Centaurus Little League.
Tom Hesemann thanked Council for their continuing support of Little League Baseball.
He asked to personally thank Steve Baysinger, Keith Williams, Mandy Vindole and Phil
McQuade for being a pleasure to work with. He commended Phil McQuade for the
ballfield conditions. He reported that there are 661 registrants for Little League this year.
He presented a check to Council in the amount of $1,500.00 from the Little League
Board of Directors as a contribution for the playground.
Davidson thanked Hesemann for the contribution on behalf of the many children who
will have the opportunity to enjoy the playground.
