He would prefer less <br />regulations too but the regulation should include some way to mitigate. Hive <br />locations should be restricted: no front yard, away from public access and a <br />setback of 5’. <br />Sheets stated her support. Her concerns included enforcement, a nuisance hive, <br />abandoned hives and the need for a vehicle of recourse (will the City have <br />resources.) <br />Lipton requested the Commission provide direction to staff. He suggest they <br />review the Windsor Ordinance as provided in the staff report. <br />Pritchard asked how Windsor deals with enforcement and request staff research <br />it. <br />Lipton requested a page by page review of the Windsor Ordinance. <br />Below is a summary of the Commission recommendation for each section of the <br />Windsor Ordinance: <br />Definitions. <br /> Keep <br />Certain conduct declared unlawful. <br /> Keep subsection A and B. <br /> Add subsection C – abandonment <br /> Change the word “Division” to “Chapter” <br />Hives. <br /> Keep <br />Fencing of flyways. <br /> Keep <br />Water. <br /> Keep <br />General maintenance. <br /> Keep <br />Queens. <br /> Change the word “beekeeper” to “property owner”. <br />Colony densitites. <br /> Subsection A. <br /> Keep <br /> Subsection B. <br /> Simplify wording <br />Marking hive, presumption of beekeeping. <br /> Subsection A. <br /> Remove last sentence. <br /> Subsection B. <br /> Be sure wording is clear that the owner is responsible for <br /> everything. <br /> Change the word “Division” to “Chapter”. <br />Inspection. <br /> <br />
