Planning Commission Meeting Minutes JULY 9, 2009 Page 9 of 9 Selection of two Planning Commission Members to serve on a  Task Force with HPC. City Council and Planning Commission – Joint study session  scheduled for August 11, 2009. Development Review Proposal Deadline:  July 9, 2009 for a September 10, 2009 public hearing before Planning Commission Staff reminded the Commission of the Joint Study Session scheduled for August 11, 2009 with City Council. Staff also stated no new land use applications had been received for scheduling at the September 10, 2009 meeting. Staff continued that the Beekeeping ordinance might need to be held in September. Lipton inquired of Pelanne if a September date was too late for the Beekeepers. Pelanne stated that the hives are established for 2009 and new hives would not be introduced until the Spring 2010. The timing for an approved ordinance would not have to done until early 2010. Board Comments – Sheets noted she would not be available for the August 11, 2009 study session with City Council nor the August 13, 2009 Planning Commission public hearing. Sheets continued with a discussion regarding the status of an underpass on Washington Street. She noted that traffic is not stopping for pedestrians even when they are in crosswalks. McCartney stated he would check with Public Works Department as well as the Parks and Recreation Department. Lipton noted his concern with other traffic issues, such as excess speed and the inadequate signage, and that these are compounded by the lack of enforcement. Lipton requested that staff check with the property owners of the Safeway property to find out what can be done to repair a very large hole in the parking lot. Discussion items for the next meeting August 13, 2009 No additional items were added. Adjourn – Pritchard moved and Tengler seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed by voice vote. Lipton adjourned the meeting at 8:35 P.M.
