Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />JULY 9, 2009 <br />Page 9 of 9 <br /> Selection of two Planning Commission Members to serve on a <br /> <br />Task Force with HPC. <br /> City Council and Planning Commission – <br />Joint study session <br /> <br /> <br />scheduled for August 11, 2009. <br /> Development Review Proposal Deadline: <br /> <br />July 9, 2009 for a September 10, 2009 public hearing before <br /> <br />Planning Commission <br />Staff reminded the Commission of the Joint Study Session scheduled for August <br />11, 2009 with City Council. Staff also stated no new land use applications had <br />been received for scheduling at the September 10, 2009 meeting. Staff continued <br />that the Beekeeping ordinance might need to be held in September. <br />Lipton inquired of Pelanne if a September date was too late for the Beekeepers. <br />Pelanne stated that the hives are established for 2009 and new hives would not <br />be introduced until the Spring 2010. The timing for an approved ordinance would <br />not have to done until early 2010. <br />Board Comments – <br />Sheets noted she would not be available for the August 11, 2009 study session <br />with City Council nor the August 13, 2009 Planning Commission public hearing. <br />Sheets continued with a discussion regarding the status of an underpass on <br />Washington Street. She noted that traffic is not stopping for pedestrians even <br />when they are in crosswalks. <br />McCartney stated he would check with Public Works Department as well as the <br />Parks and Recreation Department. <br />Lipton noted his concern with other traffic issues, such as excess speed and the <br />inadequate signage, and that these are compounded by the lack of enforcement. <br />Lipton requested that staff check with the property owners of the Safeway <br />property to find out what can be done to repair a very large hole in the parking <br />lot. <br />Discussion items for the next meeting August 13, 2009 <br />No additional items were added. <br />Adjourn <br /> – Pritchard moved and Tengler seconded a motion to adjourn the <br />meeting. Motion passed by voice vote. Lipton adjourned the meeting at 8:35 P.M. <br />
