19 <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />Critical industry means a user which is a significant user, a categorical industry or <br />which is required to report the storage of hazardous materials pursuant to the <br />requirements of this'chapter. This includes both significant and potential <br />contributors. <br /> <br />Daily maximum means the maximum concentration allowable in a discharge <br />during a calendar day. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />22. <br /> <br />23. <br /> <br />24. <br /> <br />25. <br /> <br />26. <br /> <br />27. <br /> <br />28 <br /> <br />29. <br /> <br />Direct discharge means the discharge of treated or untreated wastewater directly <br />to the waters of the state. <br /> <br />Domestic or sanitary wastes means liquid wastes (a) from the noncommercial <br />preparation, cooking and handling of food, or (b) containing only human <br />excrement and similar matter from the sanitary conveniences of dwellings, <br />commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and institutions or combination thereof. <br /> <br />Existing user means an industrial user which is in operation at the time of <br />promulgation of categorical pretreatment standards. <br /> <br />Fats, oil or grease (FOG) means any hydrocarbons, fatty acids, soaps, fats, waxes, <br />oils and any other material that is extracted by freon solvent, as specified in 40 <br />CFR 136.3. <br /> <br />Garbage means solid wastes from domestic and commercial preparation, cooking <br />and dispensing of food and from handling, storage and sale of produce. "Properly <br />ground garbage" shall mean the wastes from the preparation, cooking and <br />dispensing of foods that have been ground to such a degree that all particles will <br />be carded freely under the flow conditions normally prevailing in public sewers, <br />with no particles greater than one-half inch in any dimension. <br /> <br />Grab sample means a sample which is taken from a waste stream on a one-time <br />basis with no regard to the flow in the waste stream and without consideration of <br />time. The time it takes to collect this sample shall not exceed 15 minutes. <br /> <br />Harmful wastes means any solid, liquid, or gaseous substances which would <br />violate the prohibitions contained in this chapter. <br /> <br />Hazardous waste means any waste containing substances or characteristics listed <br />as such under Code of Federal regulations, title 40, section 261. <br /> <br />Holding tank waste means any waste from holding tanks such as vessels, chemical <br />toilets, campers, trailers, septic tanks, and vacuum-pump tank trucks. <br /> <br /> <br />
