The Council discussed lowering the amount of the Citizen’s Choice award in
order to have funds available to cover installation and other expenses for this
project.
Upon reviewing the prospectus, some additions and modifications were
suggested. The size of the pad should be included. The reference to 11
sculptures should be changed to 6, since the prospectus is only covering 2009-
2010.
Maryan will get all documents to the city attorney for legal review.
Funds have already been paid to café and Maryan will check to see that it can be
st
applied to next year’s call, since the call won’t go out until after the 1 of the year.
Thanks Maryan for all your hard work!
XI. New Arts Center
– Lynn
No new report. The show with CU architect students was fabulous and well-
attended. We should discuss next steps next month when Don is in attendance.
XII. Fundraising
– Rebecca, Farren
Rebecca reported on an event, Artsy Fartsy, that she is investigating for the
November, December timeframe. It has been a private event in the past but the
original founder will not be putting it on this year. Local artists display and sell
their wares. For fundraising it could either be an event where artists pay a
percentage of their take or admissions is charged to the public.
Farren talked about a Quick Draw event she had heard about that sounded
interesting and could be fairly easy to put on. Possibly for next summer.
XIII. Events
The Mary Flower event is actually 9/25, not 8/25 as in the agenda. There is a
dance event on the evening of the Children’s Concert on 10/3.
XIV. October meeting deadlines
th
October 15 meeting, agenda items are due by October 5.
XV. Adjourn
– Maryan moved to adjourn, Lynn seconded, all approved.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:36.
