Horticulture & Forestry <br />Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Thursday, November 5, 2009 <br />Library Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />7:00 PM <br />Call to Order <br /> – Chairperson Mike Frontczak called the meeting to order at 7:10 <br />pm. <br />Roll Call <br /> was taken and the following members were present: <br />Board Members Present: Mike Frontczak, Vickie Marra, Theresa Rounds, <br />Matt Tepe, Ellen Toon <br />Staff Members Present: Joe Stevens, Chris Lichty <br />City Council Member Present: Dave Clabots <br />Approval of Agenda <br /> – The agenda was approved by all members. <br />Approval of Meeting Minutes <br />– The minutes from the October 1, 2009 meeting <br />were approved as written. <br />Public Comments <br /> – None <br />Tree Protection <br />—Chris obtained the book, Trees andBuilding Sites for board <br />members to review. <br />Discussion of current activities in the City of Boulder regarding tree protection. <br />Regarding document for Louisville, “Avoiding Tree Damage During <br />Construction”, Chris will produce a section of terms definitions, and a list of <br />additional references. Theresa and Ellen will work on a cover sheet to <br />summarize key points. Goal is to complete document by the end of this year. <br />Adopt a Fruit Tree Proposal <br />—According to Chris, resident Seth Sovak has <br />proposed that individuals buy fruit trees to donate for planting on public land, <br />either at the Arboretum or Community Garden.
