<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 20,2009 <br />Page 13 of 15 <br /> <br />Craig Small, 1479 Taft Place, Louisville, CO, an attorney practicing in Boulder, <br />stated the focus of his practice is medical marijuana. It has been his practice to <br />assist people in establishing dispensaries and counsels clients to provide safe, <br />clean access to marijuana products and to fully comply with the law. <br /> <br />Tyler Lantzy, 595 St. Andnews Lane, Louisville, CO stated he operates an <br />audio/visual business in Louisville. He opposed the moratorium and asked if the <br />substance under discussion was called something other than marijuana, would <br />Council even consider a moratorium. He asked if the moratorium was in effect a <br />moral judgment against the community. <br /> <br />Laura Kriho, Cannabis Therapy Institute, 3500 Hayden Place, Boulder, CO sent <br />a report to Council on the economic development of medical cannabis in <br />Colorado and a draft ordinance. She stated it is a constitutional right for <br />Colorado residents. She outlined the history of cannabis and the medical use of <br />marijuana and stated her ~}roLJp is encouraging people to embrace the use of <br />medical marijuana dispensaries. She supported a medical cannabis research <br />business center and reminded Council this is a medical health issue. <br /> <br />Jason Lauve, 317 Grouse Court, Louisville, CO explained he was recently <br />acquitted of illegal medicall marijuana possession in the Boulder County Court. <br />He is a medical marijuana user and felt the moratorium is discriminatory. He <br />explained the current dispensaries cannot keep up with the demand. He requires <br />consistency and a quality of product that will work for him. <br /> <br />Jeremy DePinto, 1162 Cedar Street, Broomfield, CO stated safe access to <br />medical marijuana is the issue at hand. Dispensaries provide a safe and legal <br />environment for patients to get their medical marijuana. He stated dispensaries <br />provide a safe environment to get natural medicine and noted there are no side <br />effects with medical marijuana. <br /> <br />Patrick Richmond, Compassionate Pain Management, 1116 Dillon Road, Unit 7, <br />Louisville, CO; home address: 2132 Utica Street, Denver, CO. He explained his <br />company has not received its certificate of occupancy. He cares about the <br />medical marijuana patients and wants to give them the proper medication at a <br />price they can afford. His company is not just a medical marijuana dispensary it <br />is a holistic healing center, which provides a safe haven for medical marijuana <br />users. The goal is to help people with alternatives to traditional medicines. <br /> <br />Eva Kosinski, 1301 Jackson Court, Louisville, CO reported knowing a medical <br />marijuana patient. This person is embarrassed about using medical marijuana, <br />but had bad experiences with the side effects with traditional pharmaceuticals. <br />
