<br />Youth Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />11/5/09 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br /> <br />o Bonnie- 8th graders at her school have to get 10 hours <br />o Sam- having a couple of specific dates, set up a day where everyone could <br />show up and get hours. Maybe have a display about it at a couple locations. <br />o ***For the next meeting- everyone needs to bring an idea about how this project <br />could work. <br />· How could we tally their hours? Who is accountable? <br />· Why do they care about doing their hours through us? <br />· We need more framework <br />· Ideas for big events <br />· How is it measureable? <br /> <br />X. Eyes and Ears- <br />Joi- at school they had a competition between classes for a canned food drive that <br />was very successful. It gave the students a goal to works towards even if they didn't believe <br />in the cause. Could something like that work for the volunteer-a-thon? <br /> <br />XI. Comments from Liaisons- <br />. Kriska- Art Show for Teens on Saturday, December 5th, with a reception at 3pm. <br />Art will be displayed at the library for the rest of the month. <br />· Teen Game Night will be on December 18th @ the Library. Sign up <br />w/Kriska. <br />. Mandy- Night @ the Rec. will be open to 3rd graders beginning in January. <br />. Frost- the council is thinking about making laws concerning where sex offenders <br />can live in Louisville. Think about what it would be like for citizens if they legislated <br />this. It will really impact the youth. <br /> <br />XII. Discussion Items for Next Meeting <br />· Update from Leslie about bus schedule around Monarch <br />· Volunteer-a- Thon- bring an idea about how this project could work <br />· January Volunteer Event- Cookies for Seniors <br />XIII.
