Resource Conservation Advisory Board
Agenda
DATE

VIII. Member Reports: B Armbruster reported on info she got from Western Disposal
about residents' composting options. A Hughes reported the City's tree-branch
collection site near the cemetery is now closed. T Phare responded that was due to
budgetary restrictions; the closing saves the costs to regularly rent a large wood
chipper and city-staff labor used at the site. A Hughes also mentioned reading about
Denmark's Fehmarn Island, which is energy-self-sufficient; can Louisville follow any of
their practices? M Persichetti reported on the development of an 'energy-row'
collection site by the City of Boulder, at 6400 E Arapahoe Rd; the building-materials
recycling business ReSource will be set up there at the start of 2010, and Eco-Cycle
will move their CHaRM operation to there during the coming year. And construction of
a new Boulder-County HHW facility will begin in early 2010, behind the existing
County MRF on 63rd St.

IX. A Johnson suggested we find out the needs/wants of City staff; B
Armbruster suggested we pursue commercial 'green' building issues.
