I!E

City if
Louisville

COLORADO · SINCE 1882

LOCAL LICENSING AUTHORITY
749 MAIN STREET, L.OUISVILLE, COLORADO 80027 (303) 335-4574

2009 ANNUAL REPORT

FORWARD:

2009 was a busy year for the Louisville Local Licensing Authority. We continue to have
responsible licensees in the city. The occasions where the Authority was required to
take action were the exceptions, and the rulings of the Authority brought subsequent
compliance. The Louisville PolicE~ Department, working with other area law enforcement
agencies, has continued to provide training to licensees. We have observed a
consistent level of participation from our Louisville licensees. The Authority appreciates
the Police Department's continu€~d effort to educate and train local licensees. The
Authority believes the training and assistance offered to local licensees by the Police
Department and Carol Hanson, Deputy City Clerk and Secretary to the Authority, have
made a positive impact on licfmsees' compliance with state and local laws. In addition,
Ms. Hanson continues to publish "Louisville Liquor Lore': a periodic newsletter informing
merchants, licensees, and citizens of training opportunities and other useful information.

The Authority benefits from, and is appreciative of, the advice and counsel from, Sam
Light and Melinda Culley, attorneys for the Authority. Much appreciation also goes to
the Police Department, particularly Sergeant Jay Lanphere and Officer Cristi Gordanier,
for their time and commitment to the Authority; their services as liaisons between the
Authority and the Department have been helpful. We would be remiss if The Authority
failed to note the invaluable knowledge, assistance and contributions of Authority
Secretary, Carol Hanson. It is difficult to imagine operating without her expertise and
keenness for Authority matters. The Authority is fortunate to have the services of all of
these dedicated professionals and we look forward to a product; e 2010.
