Open Space Advisory Board
Minutes
January 13, 2010
3. Slides presented for 2009 highlights including new trails & connections,
trail maintenance, trails resurfacing, Boulder County Youth Corps, 14
educational programs, social trail revegetation, Russian olive removal,
urban drainage project, raptor monitoring, prairie dog management,
coyote management, and open space branding.
Board Updates
Tom indicated that he and several other Board members attended the
recent Conoco-Phillips meeting. Spencer mentioned that several attendees
seemed to be appreciative of Conoco-Phillips' approach regarding awareness of
grassland restoration. Spencer also said that he was impressed with Conoco-
Phillips general vision. Justin indicated that upon reviewing Conoco-Phillips' plan
he doesn't believe they have reached the unencumbered 12% open space that is
required. However, Justin believes that the trail vision as it pertains to
connectivity is fantastic. Helen suggested that Conoco-Phillips' request for an
expedited process should include early Board access to plans to provide an
opportunity for the Board to make educated decisions.
Joe indicated that the City meets with Conoco-Phillips weekly on
Thursdays and that there is indeed some vagueness in their plans at this time
while they process the requests of 56 agencies. He indicated that in order to
expedite the permit process that some of the City's many questions need to be
addressed with clear responses.
There was discussion about how Conoco-Phillips is going about their
planning process and how the City is responding.
Helen suggested that there would be Board interest to have a tour of the
new Conoco-Phillips property once there are identified sites of interest.
Tom indicated that this is Truman's last meeting as a Board member and
his years of service are much appreciated.
2010 OSAB House Keeping
Update Member Contact Information
Completed
Approve Designation of Places for Posting `Notice of Public Meeting'
Justin motioned, Linda seconded, approval unanimous for approval of
designation of places for posting of notice of public meetings. Postings
will be at City Hall (749 Main St.), the Recreation/Senior Center (900 W.
Via Appia), the Police/Municipal Court Building (992 W. Via Appia), the
Library (951 Spruce St.), and on the City's web site at
www.louisvilleco.gov
