vehicles offthe street. Currently, vehicles are maneuvered in the street. He reviewed the schematics
and was available to answer questions.

Davidson called for Council comments and questions.

Mayer feels the median cut is an issue. He does not want to lose the green-space. He feels the large
glass doors and glare should be addressed with the Planning Commission. He suggested having a
neighborhood meeting for residents to raise any concerns they may have.

McMenamim stated that they held a neighborhood meeting and no one responded.

Mayer felt that, to show due diligence, a second meeting should be held.

Keany agreed with Mayer's window glare comments. He feels the glass doors would present a safety
concem. He was concerned about the driveway on the east side. He did not see any reason for all the
pavement. He wanted it taken out up to the building, once you get past the entrance up to the parking
lot.

Howard asked to be invited to the next neighborhood meeting. He feels that the curb-cut off Via
Appia is rather large. He questioned why the total footprint was more than double of the current
building. He was also concerned about the glare from the glass doors.

Lathrop stated that the massive appearance of the five huge apparatus doors distracts from an
otherwise appealing building. He suggested using a traditional concrete driveway versus the colored,
patterned driveway proposed. His experience has shown colored, patterned driveways require
tremendous maintenance and upkeep.

Sisk stated he would like the issue of prairie dogs addressed in a positive manner. He encouraged
the applicants to increase the landscaping.

Davidson requested that the applicants prove the real need for a larger median cut, other than
convenience.

Keany suggested that the residents of the homes located below the Recreation Center be notified of
any neighborhood meetings since they are directly impacted by the view.

McMenamin agreed to notify those residents also.

Keany agreed with Lathrop on the massive appearance of the apparatus doors.

Howard moved that Council send this on to the Planning Commission, seconded by Levihn. All in
favor.

11
