Capital Projects Fund
Capital Project expenditures are projected at $8.9 million for 2009, primarily due to the Dillon
Road and Hyw42SBR Interchange projects (with most of the expenditures and funding for
the latter being carried over into 2010). Although there are significant grants associated with
these projects, this level of expenditures will result in a significant decline in Capital Project
Fund reserves during 2009.
The total budget for the Capital Project Fund is $2.9 million for 2010. Total capital spending
for 2010 is budgeted at $1.8 million.
The current Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan includes the City Shops Remodel Project
and the McCaslin Interchange Project (although the latter is subject to changes adopted
through the US 36 Environmental Impact Statement and Record of Decision).
The graph below illustrates the long-term financial forecast for the Capital Projects Fund.
This forecast is part of the City’s Long-Term Financial Plan and includes the same
assumptions as the General Fund for sales tax revenue, salaries and wages, and employee
benefits.
é
