<br /> <br />City Council <br /> <br />Water Committee <br /> <br />-DRAFT - Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Tuesday, September 22, 2009 <br />Council Chambers, City Hall, 2nd Floor <br />6:00-6:55 pm (Front doors will be unlocked at 5:45 pm) <br /> <br />I. Call to Order - Chairman Robert Muckle called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: <br /> <br />City Council: Mr. Dalton, Mr. Muckle and Mr. Sisk <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Staff Present: Mr. Fleming, Mr. Phare, and Mr. Mathes. Ken Mason, Steve <br />Hite, and Kevin Watson were present for the Water Meter System discussions. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda: Agenda approved. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of the Minutes: Approval of Minutes from June 5, 2009 meeting with <br />header date correction. <br /> <br />V. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA: None. <br /> <br />VI. City Update - Water Projects <br /> <br />a. Water Meter System - Tom made a brief introduction on the proposed meter <br />replacement project. The proposed project is to replace all customer meters <br />with new meters with radio read capabilities. The majority of the City's water <br />meters were installed in the 80's and 90's and have reached or exceeded their <br />useful live cycles. Current industry standards and warranties are for 15 years, <br />before replacement is recommended. A summary of the evaluation of the <br />automated meter reading equipment evaluation was provided and posted on <br />the wall of the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Ken Mason then presented information on the City's existing meter program <br />and the proposed radio read meter project.
