Report from the Director of Library & Museum Services: Beth Barrett introduced
herself and noted that the Historical Museum and the Louisville Public Library were
combined into one department as of January 1. She explained that the Museum and
Library each has its own advisory board, these being the Historical Commission and the
Library Board of Trustees. While the Historical Commission is also a fundraising board,
the Library has a separate fundraising board to raise additional funds for the Library, which
is the Louisville Public Library Foundation. Beth also noted some of the areas of possible
future collaboration between the Library and the Museum, including the cosponsorship of
historical programs and the digitization of historical photos and making them available on
the Library website.

X. Bacon stated that she had assisted the author with
identifying resources for her article.

C. Bridget Bacon sought advice regarding the possible donation of the Rex Theatre
movie curtain and other items from the Senor T's Restaurant building. She stated that
the building has been sold and the sellers of the building are interested in donating the
curtain to the Museum and have stated their intention to sign a Deed of Gift. Although
there is not currently a location in a City building for exhibiting the curtain, which is
large, the City Manager has given his approval for the Museum to accept this item.
Also, the potential donors understand that there is not a place to exhibit the curtain at
this time and that it may need to be stored. Don Ross made the suggestion that if the
curtain cannot be displayed, perhaps a smaller photographic image of it could be
displayed in a City building. The Commission expressed gratitude that the donors are
willing to donate the curtain to the Museum, and indicated that Bacon should contact a
