3. Piano lessons do not occur at unreasonably early or late hours because the majority <br /> of the students are children. <br /> 4. It is unfair to restrict their hours of operation when there are other downtown <br /> businesses operating outside of these hours. <br /> 5. The restrictions limit business growth and occasional variances from their regular <br /> schedule. <br /> 6. Due to the fact that piano teaching is an approved home occupation in Louisville, <br /> they could teach piano in a residence next door to the concerned neighbors and set <br /> their own teaching hours. <br /> <br />They ask that Council please consider these points and approve their application without any <br />restrictions. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Council comments and questions. <br /> <br />Lathrop asked for clarification from the City Attomey that Council could call up the Special Use if <br />the noise or hours of operation become a problem. <br /> <br />Sam Light, City Attorney, stated that they could. <br /> <br />Levihn asked what the operating hours are for the neighboring tenants on the second floor, <br />specifically, do any operate before 9 AM or after 7 PM. <br /> <br />Lawrence replied she was not aware of the neighboring tenants business hours. <br /> <br />Levihn stated he did not feel the piano studio would be any more disturbing before or after the hours <br />set by the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Mayer agreed with Lathrop that Council could call the up Special Use if a problem arises. <br /> <br />Sisk stated that he feels the studio will be a great addition to downtown Louisville. He asked the <br />applicant their plans for parking <br /> <br />Lawrence replied that they would be parking on the street and that most of their students would <br />either be dropped off or walk to the studio. <br /> <br />Sisk suggested that Lawrence and Lee set an example by parking in outlying areas and encourage <br />their students who may be there for an extended period of time to park in the outlying areas also. <br /> <br />Davidson suggested the parking lot of the Louisville Museum might be a convenient area for <br />parking. <br /> <br />Sisk agreed with the applicant that they should be allowed to set their own hours of operation. <br /> <br /> <br />
