<br />CityCouncil <br />Study Session Summary <br />January 12, 2010 <br />Library Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />7:00 <br />PM <br />The City Council of the City of Louisville met in a study session at 7:00 p.m. in <br />st <br />the 1Floor Library Meeting Room, 851 SpruceStreet, Louisville, Colorado. The <br />following persons were present - <br />City CouncilPresent:Mayor Chuck Sisk <br />Mayor Pro Tem Sheri Marsella <br />Dave Clabots <br />Frost Yarnell <br />Hank Dalton <br />Bob Muckle (Arrived 7:05 p.m.) <br /> City Council Absent:Ron Sackett <br /> Staff Present: Malcolm Fleming, City Manager <br />Heather Balser,Deputy City Manager <br />Rhonda Welborn, Executive Assistant <br />Kevin Watson, Finance Director <br />Bonnie Star, Economic Development Director <br />Louisville Housing Authority and Habitat for Humanity <br />Mr. Underhill, LouisvilleHousing Authority (LHA)provided an overview of the <br />property and the inability for LHAto build housing that would be considered <br />“affordable housing”. The LHA would like to collaborate on an opportunity with <br />Habitat for Humanity to develop permanently affordable housing on a specific <br />piece of property. Currently the challenge is working out ownership, although <br />that difficultycan be resolved. The land is a good fit for infrastructure and will <br />pull from the existing market base. <br />John Lovell, Habitat forHumanity, presented an overview of the Habitat program. <br />Lovell provided details on the qualifications of home ownership. Habitat for <br />Humanity currently has projects in Boulder and Lafayette. The program is <br />currently working with the CU Architecture program on design work.
