Discussed with owner of Grain Elevator the possibility of landmarking and <br />using HPF funds for rehabilitation after building was red tagged due to faulty <br />roofing materials. <br /> Created “Historic Preservation Fund” pamphlets (attached). <br /> Continued work on a possible Mine Marker program. <br /> Continue to work with Geographical Information System (GIS) specialist <br />Susan Dellinger in creating a mapping program for historic properties. <br /> Continued work on establishing application program for Historic Preservation <br />Fund. <br /> Two HPC members attended CLG training in Breckenridge, put on by the <br />State. <br /> Several HPC members attended County Preservation Forum in January. <br />2010 Work Plan <br />The HPC work plan for 2009 is a continuation of these programs and will center on <br />implementation of the new Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) programs. Specific work <br />for 2010 includes: <br /> Implementation of programs for the HPF: <br />o <br /> Submission of State Historic Fund grant application to begin work on <br />o <br />complete historic surveying of Old Town and the downtown <br />commercial area. This information will be the basis of landmark/historic <br />district applications and demolition reviews; <br /> Continuing development of the grant program for HPF funds for both <br />o <br />commercial and residential properties; <br /> Creation of a low-interest loan program for HPF funds for both <br />o <br />commercial and residential properties; <br /> Public outreach about the HPF incentives; <br />o <br /> Public outreach to encourage residential owners to landmark or create <br />o <br />historic districts; <br /> Public outreach to commercial property owners to encourage <br />o <br />landmarking; <br /> Continuing HPC training and developing relationships with other <br />o <br />preservation organizations. <br /> Annual preservation awards were presented to 13 property owners in (was it <br />o <br />May) for their property stewardship.
