Museum Coordinator's Report <br /> <br />A. Deeds of Gifts - After discussion, it was moved, seconded, and carried to accept the <br />following items: <br />1. Dustin Sagrillo - handmade cheese grater from the Madonna house at 701 <br />Walnut <br />2. Robert Sandmann - scans of photos and documents relating to members of the <br />Thompson family and their home at 301 Spruce <br />3. Becky Harney - booklet about meat canning and an old style canning jar, both of <br />which belonged to Martha Beauprez Harney <br />4. Ted & Carolyn Manzanares: Senor T's/Rex Theatre movie curtain, clock, and <br />four wall sconces. <br /> <br />The Commission voted to not accept into the collection other items that Ted and <br />Carolyn Manzanares had offered to donate from the Rex Theatre consisting of the old <br />candy case and a stained glass door. Bridget Bacon will contact the donors about <br />returning these items to them. <br /> <br />Also, Bridget Bacon stated that the Museum has received an anonymous donation of a <br />historical school photograph from 1932. <br /> <br />B. Bridget Bacon announced that the Commission will be able to begin having its meeting <br />in the first floor meeting room of the Library starting in May. An item will be placed on <br />the agenda for the March meeting for the Commission to officially change its meeting <br />locations beginning in May. She also announced her upcoming absence from the <br />Museum due to a trip, which will not affect the Museum's public hours, and informed <br />the Commission that she met with new members Jennifer Strand and Lynn Koglin for <br />an orientation and Museum tour. <br /> <br />C. Volunteer timesheets for 2010 were distributed and some Commission members <br />turned in their volunteer timesheets for 2009. Bridget asked for any remaining <br />timesheets to be turned in at the next meeting. <br /> <br />D. Bridget Bacon gave an update on three historical programs to be cosponsored by the <br />Museum and Library in 2010: <br /> <br />. May 8: Workshop on landmarking of historic buildings and how to qualify for <br />Historic Preservation funds. This will be co-sponsored by the Louisville <br />Historic Preservation Commission. <br />. May 27: Program about Rocky Flats to be presented by the Rocky Flats Cold <br />War Museum. <br />. November 3: Louisville residents in WWII - a PowerPoint presentation by <br />Gail Khasawneh. <br /> <br />E. Based on conversations with the City's Finance Director, there are new reporting <br />procedures for the Historical Commission's finances. The Historical Commission is a <br />501 c3 fundraising board, but it is also an advisory board with its members appointed <br />by City Council. The City will need to track the Commission's finances as City funds, <br />with the Commission to retain control over how the funds are spent. The Treasurer is <br />to supply the Commission's bank statements to the Museum Coordinator on a monthly <br /> <br />3 <br />
