All programs are free to the public and families are welcome. Please check back <br />throughout the year for updates on programming and scheduling. If you have an exciting idea for future <br />programs please share it with us by emailing us at: OpenSpace(WlouisvilleCo.gov or calling Ember Brignull <br />at 303-335-4729. <br /> <br />~ANUARY <br /> <br /> <br />Birds of Prev Slide Show <br />When: Tuesday, January Sth from 7:00pm to 8:30 pm <br />Where: Louisville Public Library, First Floor Meeting Room (951 Spruce Room) <br /> <br />Learn how to recognize birds of prey (hawks, eagles, falcons and owls) in the <br />winter skies. During this slide presentation, you'll learn how to distinguish <br />between different raptors by identifying common field marks. You will also learn <br />about the habitat requirements, behavior and ecology of these magnificent <br />birds. This program will be presented by a Boulder County Naturalist. <br /> <br />FEB"ROARY <br /> <br />.t', <br />..: <br /> <br />Coexisting with Covote <br />When: Tuesday, February 2nd from 6:30pm-8:00pm <br />Where: Louisville Public Library, First Floor Meeting Room (951 Spruce Street) <br /> <br />. . <br />.... <br />e.. <br /> <br />This citizen requested meeting is being offered to individuals who live adjacent <br />to, or are visitors of, North Open Space. The presentation will focus on the <br />following information: coyote behavior and lifecycle, how humans shape coyote <br />behavior, how to deter coyotes from using your backyard and how to report <br />coyote information to the City. <br /> <br /> <br />Bees & Beekeeping: An Introduction <br />When: Thursday, February 25th from 7:00pm- 8:30pm <br />Where: Louisville Public Library, First Floor Meeting Room (951 Spruce Street) <br /> <br />.. ~ <br />. <br /> <br />Boulder County beekeeper Doyen Mitchell will explain just what is involved in <br />this sweet hobby. You will get a photographic glimpse into the magical world of <br />honey bees, and follow a beginner's year from hive building and installing new <br />bees through the honey harvest. Learn why bees and honey have been revered <br />through history, and taste the delicate flavor of truly local honey. Local <br />beekeeper Michele Pelanne will be on hand to answer questions particular to <br />keeping bees in Louisville. All ages welcome. <br />
