The design for McCaslin Boulevard will need to address the
conditions at this particular crossing location as well as integrate with existing pedestrian crossing
standards throughout Louisville.

Currently, the Public Works Engineering Division is developing several concepts to present to the City
Manager for direction on how to proceed. OSAB is well aware that plans for how to improve the
crossing at this location has shifted over the years and there is significant public interest in this
pedestrian crossing. Staff needs to review all of this information with the City Manager before
proceeding.

Once the project is given the green light to move forward, staff will hire a traffic engineer to further
develop the conceptual ideas and will then seek input from OSAB and the public. Feel free to contact
Kathy Kron with Parks and Recreation or Craig Duffin with Public Works (contact information below) for
updates on the progress of the project. Staff will return to OSAB when the concepts for the pedestrian
crossing are ready for public input.

Kathy Kron
Craig Duffin

(303) 335-4736
(303) 335-4602

kathvk@louisvilleco.aov
craiad@louisvilleco.aov
