<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 6, 2010 <br />Page 9 of 17 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 15, SERIES 2010 - A RESOLUTION CONCERNING CREATION <br />OF A GOLF COURSE ADVIISORY BOARD AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A <br />MASTER PLAN FOR THE COAL CREEK GOLF COURSE <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation <br /> <br />City Manager Fleming explained during the March 2, 2010 City Council meeting the <br />Council approved an agreement between the City and Western Golf Properties (WGP) <br />for the management of the Coal Creek Golf Course. Staff has been working with <br />Western Golf Properties to facilitate the transition to the new agreement. The transition <br />involved a detailed and labor intensive inventory of all the City's assets. <br /> <br />He explained the City Council discussed, but tabled a motion regarding formation of an <br />advisory committee for the Golf Course. Staff worked with resident Ken Gambon and <br />other interested parties to prepare a resolution to establish an advisory board, which <br />would give City Council recommendations on matters related to the Coal Creek Golf <br />Course. The proposed resolution establishes a 7-member Golf Course Advisory Board. <br />The responsibilities of the Board would be to focus on evaluating "best of breed" golf <br />courses; assisting with customer service surveys and evaluating the success of the <br />management company. The resolution specifies the City Staff in cooperation with the <br />management company will develop a Master Plan for the operation and maintenance of <br />the Coal Creek Golf Course. <br /> <br />City Manager Fleming recommended Council approval of Resolution No. 15, Series <br />2010 and all the accompanying documents to make the transition complete: Ordinance <br />No. 1566, Series 2010, Resolutions 16 and 17, Series 2010. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comment. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Ken Gambon, 607 Augusta Drive, Louisville, CO recommended the City find the right <br />people to be on the Golf Course Advisory Board. He suggested people who have strong <br />analytical skills and who have a lot of time. He cautioned Council not to be involved in <br />writing the Master Plan as he felt it was the responsibility of Western Golf Properties. <br /> <br />Tom McGimpsey, 671 Manorwood Lane, Louisville, CO thanked Council for listening to <br />the residents. He stated Council has the support of the golfers. <br /> <br />Dana Alford, 619 Augusta Drive, Louisville, CO stated it is very important for the golf <br />course to be maintained. She stressed it will keep the value of the homes. She urged <br />Council to approve the resolution" <br />
