Russell agreed with the suggested and also suggested the inclusion of a commercial arts person from Boulder to participate. Ed Helmstead, 1000 Rex, stated he has designed and painted the majority of the signs for the downtown area and he would like to be in involved in the decision making process. The following items are scheduled for May 13, 2010 tentatively A resolution recommending approval of a sixteen (16) month extension of the expiration of the final planned unit development (PUD) plan for the Colorado Technology Center Filing No. 3 also known as 1900 Cherry LLC, from August 7, 2010 to December 31, 2011. Patchwork Elementary School – A special review use (SRU) request for a private elementary school for children between the ages of 5 to 11 years th old (grades Kindergarten through 5 grade) with a maximum of 20 students at any one time. Cutting Edge Sports – An amendment to the planned unit development (PUD) to allow a building mounted sign. 701 Main Street – A special review use (SRU) request to allow for outdoor seating and service for a proposed restaurant at the property. Sign Code Amendments – Downtown – Discussion, Update Staff briefly reviewed the tentatively schedule public hearing items for the may 13, 2010 meeting. th Lipton inquired if any commissioners would not be available for the May 13 meeting. No conflicts heard. Planning Commission Comments None heard. Staff Comments Staff discussed the interview process for the new Director of Planning and Building Safety. A public open house will be held on Thursday, April 15 from 5:00 – 6:30 PM in the Arts Center. On Friday, April 16 between 8:15 and 10:15 AM in Council Chambers each candidate will give a 10-minute presentation. The rest of day will be spent completing interview activities at City Hall. Brauneis asked if a list of candidates is available to the public. Balser stated a press release will be sent on Monday, April 12, 2010.
