Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 8, 2010 <br />Page 9 of 10 <br />Lipton asked if the commission could have Norie Winters come to a meeting to <br />discuss signage. <br />Russell agreed with the suggested and also suggested the inclusion of a <br />commercial arts person from Boulder to participate. <br />Ed Helmstead, 1000 Rex, stated he has designed and painted the majority of the <br />signs for the downtown area and he would like to be in involved in the decision <br />making process. <br />The following items are scheduled for May 13, 2010 <br />tentatively <br />A resolution recommending approval of a sixteen (16) month extension of <br />the expiration of the final planned unit development (PUD) plan for the <br />Colorado Technology Center Filing No. 3 also known as 1900 Cherry LLC, <br />from August 7, 2010 to December 31, 2011. <br />Patchwork Elementary School – A special review use (SRU) request for a <br />private elementary school for children between the ages of 5 to 11 years <br />th <br />old (grades Kindergarten through 5 grade) with a maximum of 20 <br />students at any one time. <br />Cutting Edge Sports – An amendment to the planned unit development <br />(PUD) to allow a building mounted sign. <br />701 Main Street – A special review use (SRU) request to allow for outdoor <br />seating and service for a proposed restaurant at the property. <br />Sign Code Amendments – Downtown – Discussion, Update <br />Staff briefly reviewed the tentatively schedule public hearing items for the may <br />13, 2010 meeting. <br />th <br />Lipton inquired if any commissioners would not be available for the May 13 <br />meeting. No conflicts heard. <br />Planning Commission Comments <br />None heard. <br />Staff Comments <br />Staff discussed the interview process for the new Director of Planning and <br />Building Safety. A public open house will be held on Thursday, April 15 from 5:00 <br />– 6:30 PM in the Arts Center. On Friday, April 16 between 8:15 and 10:15 AM in <br />Council Chambers each candidate will give a 10-minute presentation. The rest of <br />day will be spent completing interview activities at City Hall. <br />Brauneis asked if a list of candidates is available to the public. <br />Balser stated a press release will be sent on Monday, April 12, 2010. <br />Discussion Items for Next Regular Meeting May 13, 2010 <br />None heard. <br /> <br />
