Councilman Donovan remarked the only thing he wished to push at this time was industry. Councilman Domenico moved that the Van Buskirk request be taken up at work mission. Seconded by Councilman Deborski. Councilman Deborski also asked if it would be a waste of time to talk with Vas Buskirk. City Administrator Hurl advised he did not think it would be a waste of time as there are benefits to both sides that are worth talking about. Roll call vote - Deborski yes, Jensen yes, Donovan no, Scholl no. Domenico yes. Motion carried. P. Pool Bids - Dick Ferguson prepared the plans and spec cations and invitation to bid on bathhouse, swimming pool, wading pool and decks and City Ad- ministrator Hurl advised Council they ad been ap- proved by City Attorney Morris. Chairman Hslart of Parks and Recreation informed Council if their department did not receive a Government Grant as anticipated they will use the Bond Issue without Federal funding and the pool would not open until June of 1974 - Public opening - August let. 1974. Councilman Deborski inquired if we let out the bide now and construction time period isn't until next spring, when do you really plan on constructing the pool? Chairman R.lart stated construction would be- gin this fall prior to Christmas and the total cost would be approximately $90,000 to $97,000. Councilwoman Scholl moved that the two invitations to bid on the bathhouse. and swimming, wading pools and deck be approved. Seconded by Councilman Jensen. Roll call vote - Deborski yes, Jensen yes, Donovan yes, Scholl yes, Domenico no. . Councilman Donovan moved that bids be firm for 60 days until October lst, 1973. Seconded by Councilman Deborski. City Administrator Wurl advised we antici- pated having bids prepared and awards on netting of August 7th, 1973. There is no problem in delaying the awards if there are any questions. Motion re- stated on contract by changing the construction effectivity date from December 1st to October 1st, 1973. All in favor. Motion carried. LURA . Council and Lure study session to be held July 24th,1973. Councilman Deborski stated the Urban Renewal would be de- funct this time next year; what transition will transpire? Should receive $200,OCOin next two years. • City Administrator hurl and Director Bob Davis will pre- pare agenda for this meeting. — ,t -
