Items that should be corrected are: Shuffle Board
and Bocci Courts arranged differently. Sprinkling heads are
not working properly. Also, a full set of drawings of elec-
trical and sprinkling system should be supplied. Ed Deborski
recommended that acceptance of the Park be put off until Urban
Renewal is completely out of the picture financially. A pro-
posal was also made that W. Wurl and Dan White be asked to
make a check of the park. Jerry King to make certain that Bob
Davis has a list of those items to be corrected.
SCHEDULING: All programs in Fall brochure to start I week
later due to late distribution. Secretary will notify regis-
trants.
LaFarge and Hutchinson. Keith Helart is to talk with Mr. Wurl
about purchasing small piece of property at this location,
which is presently owned by Rocky Mountain Fuel. Parks and
Recreation could have sidewalks put in and develop a play area,
which is badly needed in this section of the City.
Jerry King suggested Parks and Recreation think about a sports
and recreation Center sometime in the future. Ed Deborski
made a recommendation for the Boards' consideration. His sug-
gestion was that it would be very beneficial to older people
in the city if Parks and Recreation would be agreeable to trade
back some of its property to Wood Brothers and have them con-
struct townhouse; or multiple family dwellings. He said that
older people he has talked with are not interested in apartment
housing or apartment housing complex idea, but he feels many
older people would like the townhouse concept. Keith advised
that Parks and Recreation has no major plans for the property
in question, other than connecting walkways, and this idea could
certainly be considered if there are ever any firm plans.
Cottonwood Park. Jerry to ask Dick Ferguson to next regular
meeting regarding advisability of a grant for Cottonwood Park
development.
MAINTENANCE:
A proposal was made that tennis court lights be turned off for
winter months . Jerry King and Larry Springer to handle this.
Lights at Miners Field were discussed. Larry Springer cautioned
that the system is very dangerous in its present condition and
should be replaced before it is too late. Keith explained that
funds are not available at the present to replace the system,
but advised Larry to ask Dan White to draw up a set of specs
for near future.
Defining the Parks and Recreation Director's job was tabled until
next meeting due to the late hour.
Jo Ann motioned to adjourn. Larry Springer seconded. All in favor.
}' 11 1 ;rr , f'h i , ,,. ,/ ! - - -
