The possibility of blowing paper and other debris gathering In settling
basins of the proposed filter plant and reaching the raw water storage facilities
of Marshall Lake or the proposed Coal Creek Reservoir.
3. The effect that the fugitive dust from the gravel mining operation will
have on settling basins of the filter plant.
4. Other minor nuisances such as noise and odor, and how these items
will affect the aesthetic qualities of the recreation area adjacent to the
proposed reservoir's high water line.
Currently the State of Colorado and the involved municipalities anticipate
constructing a dam and reservoir within four years, and the filter plant co.*
plex In three to five years. It is our understanding that the life of this
proposed landfill will be approximately eight and one-half years. Therefore,
as you can readily see, there is a potential conflict with respect to the
plans of Urban Waste Resources, Inc. and the municipalities of Erie, Lafayette,
Louisville, and Superior. If it is impossible for Urban waste Resources, Inc.
to use other lands owned by them for mining and landfill operations, then the
Basin municipalities in general and the Coal Creek Water and Sanitation Associa-
tion in particular, would greatly appreciate an opportunity to meet with
representatives of Urban Waste Resources, inc. to attempt to solve the above
delineated problems.
Thank you for any consideration you can give us in this matter. Please feel
free to contact us at any time if you have any questions.
Vary truly yours,
Leon A.
