LEVYING TAX FOR Discussion was held and Mayor Pro-tem King ex- 1974 BUDGET plained that the levy had been decreased King 2. 11 mills and reallocated the 3 mills which was a Sanitation levy had been moved over to pay for the Brimming Pool Bond. * The net reduction in taxes therefore is 2.11 mills. We end up with a 20 mill total levy compared to 22.11 mills last year. Councilman Deborski moved that Resolution #22 be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Jensen. Roll call vote - Domenico yes, Scholl yes, Donovan yes, Jensen yes, Deborski yes. Motion carried. ORDINANCE #426 Councilman Domenico moved that Ordinance #426 VACATION OF SIROKMAN be adopted. Seconded by Councilwoman Scholl. ALLEY Mayor pro-tem King advised this was the second reading of this Ordinance and Public Hearing was called. Mrs. Mildred Sirokman spoke in favor of Ordinance #426 and gave her reasons. Mr. Dave Bailey, representing Mrs, Michel spoke against Ordinance #426. After listening to arguments pro and con Mayor pro-tem King called for question to adopt Ordinance #426. Roll call vote - Domenico yes, Scholl no, Donovan no, Jensen no, Deborski no. Motion defeated. Ordinance #426 was not adopted. ORDINANCE # 428 An Ordinance relating to the passage of a sales USE TAX TO BE and use tax on building and construction materials PLACED ON BALLOT and motor vehicles purchased outside the City of Louisville as introduced by Attorney Morris. Councilman Deborski moved that Ordinance #428 be adopted. Seconded by Councilwoman Scholl. Public Hearing held. Question called for - roll call, Deborski yes, Jensen yes, Donovan yes. Scholl yes, Domenico yes. A brochure will put out so that the citizens of Louisville will be well informed on the Use Tax and its effect. ORDINANCE #429 An Ordinance for establishing salaries for the ESTABLISHING SAL- elected officials for the City of Louisville. ARIES - 2nd READ- Councilwoman Scholl moved that Ordinance #429 INC be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Donovan. Pub- lic Hearing held. Councilman Domenico wanted a legal opinion from City Attorney Morris if Councilman King could vote on the Ordiance while acting as Mayor Pro-tem. Attorney Morris stated King could vote. Councilman Deborski defended his opinion to oppose the Ordinance. Page - 5 -
